OK, so it seems everyone on Facebook is doing this 25 things about me note. Well, I thought I would try to come up with one... so here goes...
1. I love to bake.. it's my favorite hobby.. cakes, cookies, you name it.
2. A dream of mine would be to open a bakery. I even have a name, but I won't share it because someone may steal it.
3. Nate and I got engaged in London. I was incredibly sick with bronchitis. Nate made me go for a walk. I thought he was planning it, but we went to the place where I expected it to happen and it didn't. He then made me walk even more and we got in a fight because I didn't want to drink water, but he kept telling me to. I just wasn't thirsty. We finally ended up in these beautiful gardens (the royal gardens I believe) and then he proposed.
4. On that same trip we were in Russia and a Russian doctor came on a house call for my bronchitis. The missionary had to interpret for me and I ended up getting doctor prescribed back rubs.
5. I once ran over someone's dog. They were in the front yard and saw the whole thing happen! I cried for hours.
6. I have a radio voice. In college I worked in radio and my friends never believed it was me talking on the radio. In fact, that still happens when I do stories. People always say, "I saw you but it was some other girls voice."
7. I'm actually very shy, and have a hard time making new friends even though I desperately want to fit in.. However, at work I seem to be able to talk to any random person on the street. It's all an act.
8. I'm the only blonde kid in my family and most people think I look nothing like my two sisters.
9. In college a couple of friends and I snuck into Nate's apartment and stole the Charlie Brown Christmas tree he and his roommates had put up. We took it out a window and Kacee and I had it in our shower for a few days... Yes, we showered with a tree. It added a great pine fragrance to the bathroom.
10. Another time in college we (this may have been me and Andrew?) snuck into their house and filled empty coke cans with a little water and then sat them on edge (where they look like they'll fall over, but they won't because there's just enough water to balance them on the rim). We put them everywhere in the house, including on the toilet seats. They always thought someone else did it. Confession is good for the soul.
11. I had a dream when I was in 6th or 7th grade that I was getting married. I was in a dress, walking down the aisle. I even saw my husband, he had dark hair, but when he turned so I could see his face I suddenly woke up. I'm convinced that guy was Nate.
12. Nate is the only guy I ever seriously dated.
13. Nate dumped me after we'd been dating for 6 months. Then after 6 more months I convinced him he was wrong. We dated the second time for a week or two without telling anyone. We had our reasons.
14. Our dog eats boogers, and yes, we feed them to her. Disgusting I know.
15. In high school I knew I wanted to be an English teacher or journalist. I love to edit, give me a red pen and I'm oh so happy. Although I now stink at grammar.
16. I was baptized when I was eleven and then again in college. I just really felt like I didn't fully understand the decision the first time. My grandma once told me, if you have doubts it's OK to do it again.
17. I've always wanted to be a mom, but now I love my job. I battle in my mind about what to do when the time comes to make that decision. I think I feel guilty about not staying home because my mom did and so many of my friends are currently.
18. I believe that God is using the trials Nate and I have been through to help other people. Sure, it's painful but I think our marriage is much stronger now.
19. My biggest fear is that people will know why Nate goes to CR and that they will judge him. I'm so codependent! Although this is progress because I used to think they would judge me and now I don't care.
20. Our dog is the grandchild of a dog I got when I turned 12.
21. Growing up I always celebrated my birthday with my Grandma Mills. She passed away right after Nate and I got engaged. I miss her but know she's in heaven. Her birthday was February 16th, mine is the 20th.
22. My grandpa (my mom's dad and the only one I ever had) died when I was 13. I answered the phone the morning it happened and heard my aunt tell my mom. Almost every picture of me as a kid was taken on his lap.
23. I have one grandma left. I love her very much but don't spend nearly enough time with her.
24. I sometimes dream of moving away (with Nate of course). I've just always lived in Oklahoma, with the exception of two six week trips overseas.
25. I evidently love parenthesis (who knew?).

Yes I have been stalking your blog! But I just had to let you know that after reading this post I think you are my twin sister.
So now that noone else will come back to read this post, I thought I would take a stab at your bakery name. Of course you don't need to confirm or deny. I wouldn't want you to give the name away. But I was talking with Jonathan about your exciting news and in my super cheesy mind, it came to me: Ison on the Cake. There you go. It doesn't get cheesier than that but I am a word girl so I liked it. :)
