We're considering doing a delayed vaccine schedule with Brixton and I'm wondering if anyone out there has done that or knows someone who has that could give us a little info...
I have nothing against vaccines, but would like to spread them out a little and maybe avoid a few (chicken pox never hurt me or my niece who's had them three times).
Brixton hates his car seat!! He cries everytime we put him in it and unlike what most people say it doesn't put him right to sleep, in fact he has no problem screaming the whole 15 minute drive from our house to church. Last night we were on our way home from a CR TEAM meeting and he was hungry.. therefore justified screaming.. I put a pacifier in his mouth and he kept screaming.. then I put my finger on the tip of his nose (when he nurses his nose always touches me so I thought I'd try just touching his nose for some reason). Well, it worked he calmed down and pretty much fell asleep! Very weird, but at least it worked...
Yesterday was 4 weeks since Brixton's birth. I can't believe it. The weirdest part is that I wasn't even due until later this week. I held him up by my stomach the other day and told him I'm glad he came when he did.. he's so much bigger now I don't want to imagine how huge I would have been! Speaking of huge... I gained exactly 30 pounds during pregnancy... I went to the doctor today for my post delivery check up and they weighed me (I haven't been weighed since I was pregnant. We don't own a scale.) and I'm only 6 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight!! I can't believe it! I'm sure the last 6 will be hard to loose, especially since the holidays are here... oh well. Bring on the turkey and pecan pie!!

Talk to Jennie Goss. She is waiting for shots and being selective on which ones she'll have them give. She's researched a ton! :)
Ha - remember when we were comparing our weight gains in the beginning? HA, no more. I am totally over the 30 lb mark. You are lucky - I am so ready to get this weight off (and have a baby!!)
I haven't read it, but I have seen great information cited from Stephanie Cave's book "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Children's Vaccinations". I am going to read this book when I can get my hands on it. Good luck!
I didn't delay Vaccines with either of my boys and they have been fine. But, I am totally agree it is up to the parents. I am not a big fan of totally skipping them though. I know Jeannie McCarthy has done alot of research on it because her son use to have autism. You might try searching out some of her stuff.
It has nothing to do with Jennie McCarthy... it's just a personal decision.. and yes we are vaccinating him, just on a delayed schedule... I do work with a guy who's son has autism and he's very anti-vaccine
