Your Prayers Worked!!

I just want to say thank you to everyone who responded to my post yesterday. I really appreciate your prayers. I thought I would update you on my day/mood because I feel like God really did help me through this day and make it go well considering the foot of snow and FREEZING temperatures I've been hanging out in all day (OK, I've been home for a couple of hours snuggled in my bed).

Last night we took B to his memaw's house. I'm so grateful that we have family close by to take him. Sure, he's stuck out there now for at least another night but at least I know he's warm and safe!

Now, today was cold, yes. Miserable at times, maybe. Awful, NO! Did I survive, yes. Did my car, NO (I'll explain).

I woke up at 2, left at 2:30 and made it in by 3:00, then to SE 25th and I-35 by 4:00. One of my managers said he counted and I did 16 live shots by 9:15 this morning. So did Emily Sutton. The great news is I actually had fun. I did a good variety of shots. I survived. People at work told me I did a great job (that doesn't happen often).

I didn't freeze. I wore five pairs of pants, three shirts and three coats!! Plus, a hat, headband and of course my lovely goggles! Maybe they look silly, but they totally help.
I was also able to help others. I helped push one car out of a drift and helped dig a semi out of a drift. I even tried to shovel our driveway.. didn't help any.

The bad news from today is that my car got hit in the Channel 4 parking lot. But I'm not that upset.
My producers says to me "did you hear the bad news?"
Me: "No"
Producer: "Oh"
Me: What? Am I doing live shots until 3:00 this afternoon?"
Producer: "No."
Me: "What!"
Producer: "There was an 'incident' in the parking lot."
Me: "MY CAR!!!"
Our new reporter, Ian, who has only worked there for 3 days, hit my car and FOUR others!! I have no idea how. He was in a station car so Channel 4 has to pay for the damage. I feel bad for the guy. So, my front bumper has a hole in it. It also won't start now, but I don't know if that's from it getting hit or not??? The lights come on and my windshield wipers work, but it won't actually turn on.

All in all it's been a pretty good day. I'm so grateful to everyone who has prayed for me and the others who are working in these conditions. I think I really was able to praise God through this storm despite how awful and fearful I was yesterday.

Good for you, Chellie, for doing a hard job well..and with a smile on your face. I am thankful God wrapped His arms around you so you couldn't help but feel Him today!

FYI-You will most likely need to do a little "Memaw detox" when you get B back! Those grandparents have a hard time saying no. ;)

I didn't comment yesterday but I did read your post this morning and I did feel awful for your situation last night. I'm so glad you had a good day at work and I appreciate what you do!!

Good job Chellie! I am glad B was safe at his Memaw's and that you got through today. The prayers will keep coming.
I saw your car on the news tonight when they showed the KFOR parking lot. :(

Well, at least you were ice and friendly towards Ian this morning. Wasn't that who you were throwing snowballs with? Great job out there.
