Our New Entry

A LOOOONNNGGG time ago I showed you our not so lovely entry way. I had absolutely no idea what to do with this part of our house. Since the tile continued from our kitchen and dining room in to the entry it became a part of our kitchen remodel. We actually painted it quite a while ago, just a basic grey.

The picture on the left is from the living room looking toward the stairs that go to the basement or our bedrooms. The picture on the right is from the stairs looking toward the living room.

Tearing the tile out in the kitchen and dining room was a breeze!! Fast forward to this part of the entry and man was it tough!! This must have been where the tile installer started because this stuff was down tight. It took me more than an hour to remove just part of what this shows!!
So we hired a guy and within a day it looked like this... You can see the paint we chose in this picture too.
It stayed like that for a while and then we finally had a couple days off to get the floor down. This shows the progress. I love these floors! My dad also built me this little table to fill up some of the wall space.

This is one of my favorite parts of the new entry! I LOVE this gallery wall. We still need a few frames and pictures but it's coming together. I built these shelves. It was so easy!

I really love how this turned out!  The metal scriptures on the shelves are from a gal we knew in college. She has beautiful work. I actually wrote this post several months ago… It's been mostly done, but I've really been wanting the mirror over the little table. I found it at Target but wanted to wait until after Christmas and my birthday to buy it. Then I went to get it and they were out. So more waiting and I finally purchased it and today we put it up.

I realized that I have not done a final kitchen/dining room post. However, there is one very noticeable small project that we need to complete. So, until that's done I'll keep waiting. It's pretty much all been done for a while though.. just tedious little projects.
