Some Assembly Required

First I must admit I've been really bad about completing gifts for Nate over the past year.. I was supposed to get his diploma framed, still haven't. For Valentine's Day I said I'd get him a coffee maker, we still don't own one (although in my defense he doesn't want it now because he drinks free coffee at work).


For Nate's birthday (which was in July) he got a basketball goal from me and my mom and his sister. He didn't actually get it until a the end of August, but at least he got this one, and it was only August because he had to go pick it up.



It was sitting in our garage for a couple of weeks... we don't have the tools or the time to install it...


About a week ago I did a story with this guy Antuone, he's with Some Assembly Required. A great business idea! I talked to him about the goal and he said it would be no problem for him to install.


That night I told Nate I had a gift for him... he said,"You installed my basketball goal!?!" To which I responded, "well, sort of. It will be next Tuesday." Nate was pretty excited and relieved that he wouldn't have to do the work.


So Tuesday Antuone came over installed the base.. and then yesterday he finished up (we had to wait for the concrete to set).

While I usually would have not paid for this I know how we are with projects. Had I not hired Some Assembly Required that goal likely would have sat in my garage until at least Nate's next birthday.
