Hallway Makeover

A couple of weeks ago I decided to tackle a small project around the house. We have this hallway that leads to all of our bedrooms. It's been a sort of dirty white since we moved in and really just needed some fresh paint. See...

Fortunately, I picked out a neutral tan color and Nate agreed to it.  He also agreed to this!!

I was really excited! I've wanted to do a chalkboard wall and thought this was a great place for it.

So, here is the after. Neutral walls with a chalkboard in between two bedrooms. That is actually between Brixton's room and our spare room, that will eventually be another child's room (just not really soon).

There's a big square at the top of our bedroom doors, we are thinking about painting that in chalkboard paint on the kid's room doors and writing their names on it -- what do you think?

I have big plans for the wall right across from the chalkboard. It involves these awesome frames, minus the cheesy and weird pictures (seriously, what's with the weird people dancing?). I bought these frames at Goodwill for $1.50 each. Soon they will be painted white and I'm hoping to have a great place for Brixton's lovely art work.
The only challenge about this project was there are SIX doorways in this hall!! Three bedrooms, a closet and two bathrooms. I tend to not tape things off, so carefully painting around the doors took a little longer than I thought it would, but that's OK.

And here's a final before and after from the cool collage app on my phone. It's sort of hard to see the color change, but it looks so nice and warm in person.
We also used the chalkboard paint on a column in our living room/dining room/kitchen. I was thinking I could write a menu or grocery list or something on it...
