I sometimes wish I could be a stay at home mom.
Sure, I really enjoy my job. It's a cool job. But I have a bittersweet relationship with it. Mostly I hate that my child too often sees me like this...
and not enough like this...
I actually have a love hate relationship with the top picture. I think it's awesome that he can see me while I work, but I sure would rather be in the room with him. As for the bottom picture, I think it's my favorite!
He even talks about Channel 4 a lot. If I go anywhere he says, "Momma, you goin' to Channel 4?"
Anyway, enough mom guilt on that topic for the moment.
If I was/could be a stay-at-home mom here are some things that would change.
-laundry would get done (in the current case it gets done maybe once every two to three weeks)
-I would have less excuses when it comes to cooking dinner.
-home projects might happen a little faster.
-my garden would have mulch put down (it's just so hot when I get home who wants to go outside)
-my child would have more play dates with people from church
-I would have friends, well friends that I could make time to see. I have friends I just never have time to see them.
-I would wear jeans and tennis shoes daily!
-I would bake! It is my favorite hobby.
-I would try to learn to sew. I did make a couple of bags once, see the bottom of the post here, and can hem my pants but that's about it. I want to learn to make a quilt.
-I'm sure there are lots of things I would want to do with Brixton, like have a craft time where we make the cool things I find on Pinterest. I'm not going to post all those what-ifs because I don't want to think about all the time I could have with him.
Maybe someday I can stay home. Maybe my new business adventure will help me with that desire... I'll post more about that later.

Well, it's very cool that he can turn on the TV and see you at work!
You might get some of those things on your list accomplished, but trust me, from experience, you need some structure in your schedule to help manage your time wisely. I've always thought working part-time is the best of both worlds. Which is one of the reasons I like to volunteer.
Until then, maybe try picking one of those items to work on and see if you can't do it while you continue to work full time. You might surprise yourself!
Blessings to you!
