Last Friday my Grandma Hern turned 85! While I'm sure she's not thrilled about me posting her age everywhere I did. Sorry grandma.
Anyway, I haven't baked much over the last year because sugar is sort of one of my enemies, sadly. Although, I do eat my share of junk food I have tried to cut back. But when it comes to my grandma I was all about celebrating! I made this cake and it turned out really close to what I was imagining. I wish I could have found thinner, prettier numbers but this was all Hobby Lobby had.

Here's my grandma with her great grands. It's really hard to get a good picture of everyone when there are so many little kids. My nephew Talon seemed to look at the camera every time, but never smiled. I didn't even get a real smile from grandma.
And I made sure to get a picture of her with Brixton. I love this photo! The only other picture I have of these two was when he was an infant. I had to basically force him to take the picture because he's in an I don't want my picture taken phase. I wish we would go see her more, but I have to admit I'm really bad about making time to get up to Enid to her house on my days off.

I bet Grandma was proud of that cake! It is hard to take time out of our busy schedules but really important...every time I went to see mine I usually had a good time even tho I went grudgingly sometimes!
