About a week ago we noticed this not so little guy just outside our dining room window. My first instinct was to FREAK OUT!! But after tweeting this picture we were informed this is actually just a garden spider that is not harmful to us in any way. So, we decided he could keep hanging around. And that is exactly what he has done. It has become quite interesting to watch. Every morning Brixton and I stop for a bit and watch as he builds a new web. I haven't researched what he does with his old web, but there is definitely a new web made every day. Once finished with his web he hangs out there in the middle pretty much for the rest of the day waiting for something to fly into the web. Sometimes he notices our hands or faces up next to the glass and he starts swinging.
Nate took this video -- showing Brixton what happens when something lands on the spiders web. I really like watching B's face throughout the video.
Here's another web picture. A couple days after he arrived his web started looking more and more fancy (that's what I call it) with these thicker parts. I don't know how long he will stay, but it's neat to watch while he's here.

We had one of those too, then Jeremy noticed and egg sack on it and it was gone....we let it stay for weeks, but that was it for him.
Zipper spider, right?
