Kitchen Project: New Walls & Busted Tile

At Christmas our kitchen looked like this...

That next Saturday these dudes came over with their fancy stilts. Within 4 hours they...
made...
progress!!!!
Our kitchen once again looked like a room. (Insert happy squeals)

Seriously, that drywall would have taken us a good two weeks to put up, and that doesn't count taping and bedding. I'm so glad we decided to hire people!

Anyway, all the drywall was up and taped within the first day. Our guy, Maricio, came back Sunday for a coat -- then again Tuesday -- and then he's supposed to come back tomorrow to hopefully do all the texture.

While we wait for him to finish up I decided to move ahead with the project. A friend loaned us this impact hammer and I got to work.
Goodbye white tile!!

I tackled the kitchen Sunday night and moved on to the dining room Monday morning. In an hour I had that room knocked out (literally).

I have hated this tile since we moved in. It is impossible to keep it clean. It shows any little spot and I do not like it at all.

So excited for what's to come. Hopefully we can start installing cabinets on Friday (insert excited squeals)!!

Lookin' good! I know what you mean about the white tile - we had that in our first house and I literally swept it every day because even one hair on the floor just showed up so easily!

Awesome job, Chellie! Can't wait to see it when it is done.
