We got a press release at the station yesterday about Mercy not letting anyone with flu-like symptoms ... or anyone under 18 in to visit patients.
Thought this would be good for people to know.
Here's a line from the release:
"Because of the level of flu-like illnesses, we are currently not allowing any visits by anyone under the age of 18 or anyone with flu-like symptoms," said John Harkess, M.D., an infectious disease specialist and medical director of Mercy's infection prevention program. "Although we know this is an inconvenience to families and friends of our patients, we also know that first and foremost, we must protect our patients."
