For our anniversary Nate and I both took a couple days off. Typically we would go somewhere, but this time we decided to stay home and get some things done. I thought we were going to do another project so I was really excited when Nate suggested we try to see what we could get done on the basement.
And here is the progress!!
The door to the right leads to the garage and the washer and dryer are right behind me.
Here is from inside the room!! All the walls are up!! All the screw holes have been covered with joint compound and today I hope to finish getting all the taping done.
This is from another corner of the room. Oh and we cut out the ceiling holes for the can lights.
Here's a little before and after for ya... these two pictures are from the same point in the room. We tore out the closet shown in the first picture and basically swung the wall around to make a big usable room.
This is from the other side of the room. The washer and dryer area is where the picture above was taken from. This next picture is looking that direction.
We need to finish the taping in the new "room" and then put up the plywood and drywall on the other side of the new wall. We're putting plywood on that side to make the wall a little stronger. This room is where we go in storms and so the wood will be better able to withstand flying debris than drywall alone.
