I'm one of like 5 people working at Channel 4 today. Honestly, "holidays" are the best days to work because everything is so laid back. There's a lot less tension around this place when no one is here.. go figure. Plus, they usually let you go home early.
I went to the doctor yesterday. I showed up for my 4:00 appointment and they all looked at me weird and said "you have an appointment?" "And you're pregnant?" No, I just like randomly showing up at my doctor with the cup you make me take home and I'm just 12 pounds heavier than I was 4 months ago because I think it's fun to gain weight. I showed them my little reminder card and they quickly squeezed me in. First, they weighed me and I gained another 3-4 pounds, blood pressure is fine, baby's heartbeat sounded fine. The doctor seemed like he was in a hurry too.. which made me mad. I had to stop him and say wait I have a few questions. Then out the door I went. He wasn't even going to schedule me for the next ultrasound but I said aren't we supposed to do that.. so July 22 is the official date to find out.. It's also the day I hit 22 weeks. Although, I think I'm going to switch doctors. I already had to change at the beginning because my normal guy stopped delivering babies... so what's another change. I wasn't sure, but the rush rush I'm ready to go home it's a holiday attitude yesterday made me a little more confident.
Nate's aunt and uncle are in town from Ohio. The 4th of July is the one time each year we see them. It's great. Homemade ice cream and fireworks! One of my favorite times of the year.
And for those of you still reading a special treat.. I felt the baby last night for the first official time... and maybe again about 30 seconds ago. After my doctors appointment Nate kept putting his hand on my stomach. He said he wanted to see if he could feel it. I told him if I can't then I'm pretty sure he can't. He still tried. Later in the evening I was just sitting on the couch and I felt two little taps from the inside. It had to be the baby because it came from the area where I know the kid is living. I felt it one more time then I started moving around so I was less aware of it. I almost forgot to write this, but as I was posting about the 4th I felt that same little tap. Just the baby saying hey lady don't forget about me!

Haha! If you want a new OB, we both loved Karen Wilks at Mercy. She was great! She can deliver at Mercy and at another hospital. I can't remember which one. Hope you have a nice 4th and that Nate feels baby Ison soon!
She doesn't deliver at Baptist and that's a requirement because it's like 2 minutes from our house. I'm probably going to switch to Dr. Goff... he's at Mercy and Baptist
So glad you felt Baby moving now!! That is so exciting! I love my Dr.--Dr. Doeden--she's at Lakeside Women's Hospital and she will deliver at Lakeside or Baptist. Anyway, let me know if you want more info! Hope you guys have fun with your family this weekend.
I know someone else is using Dr. Goff and likes him! So that's a good thing too!
