No More Diapers

I was skeptical, and still sort of am... but my "baby" has been accident free in big boy undies since about noon yesterday!!!!
I had heard about this 3-day plan and wanted to try it but I thought he was too young. He's been super interested in using the potty so I was off all this week and figured we'd give it a try. Turns out, according to the e-book, he's the perfect age for potty training.
I got our stash together Monday and planned for THREE days at home with B!
No going anywhere. Just me and the kiddo in the house together, not just together but side by side!
Day 1 was rough. We went through lots of undies, but not as many as I expected.
By the afternoon he was crying when he would pee and it would go everywhere. Poor kid. But that was a good sign. We napped. He woke up dry. That's about the point where I broke. He threw a huge tantrum and wouldn't calm down. Fortunately Nate got home about 20 minutes into the tantrum and saved me.
I must admit I was really afraid of what this would mean for my carpet! Yes, I covered parts of my house with cardboard (we have lots since we just got back from IKEA).
That night he wet the bed around 11:30 and woke up crying. I got him cleaned up and back to bed.
Day 2 was better. Around 4:30 a.m. he woke up yelling for me.. he was dry. I took him to the potty and he went! Unfortunately it was dark and well somehow his pee made it out of the toilet and all over my leg. Yup. Gross.
Eventually he went back to sleep and I got to change pants. That day was so much better. He made it about 12 hours between accidents. In the morning we were playing outside when he stopped and got this look on his face and sort of grabbed himself. We ran to the potty and he made it! I was starting to wonder if this may actually work. Then we went back outside and somehow got LOCKED OUT of the house! Me, in my pj's, no makeup, and without combing my hair. B in his t-shirt and undies. My cell phone was inside too. So off we went to the neighbor's house. I was a little panicked, hoping B would pee on this guy's entryway. We called Nate who thankfully came to our rescue. While we were locked out poor B did pee in his undies. I felt awful there was nothing I could do. After Nate left he had another accident within about an hour of the last. That afternoon he actually started saying, "I need go potty."
Day 3: He woke up around 5:45 DRY!! He yelled for me and off to the potty we went. This time it stayed in the potty and off my leg. I'm happy to say he's done a great job all day of telling me when he needs to potty. We've been accident free since those two accidents around noon on day 2. So today we've done a lot of dancing and cheering.
We are all pretty happy about the results.
Tomorrow the real test. I send him to daycare for a couple of hours to see how he does. Tonight Nate bathed him and put him to bed so I could run a couple of errands. It was super nice to get out of the house.
I can't believe this little guy is growing up so fast! Although, I am really excited about not having to buy anymore diapers!

Okay, the yogurt picture threw me for a second. But that one of him doing the handstand in his undies is pretty dang cute!! I can't believe you survived this. I definitely will be calling you in the next few weeks if we decide to tackle this!!
