Last week Brixton started Kindergarten!! He's growing up so fast. I can't believe he is so big, but I know HE IS READY for this phase of life.
Nate and I were both able to take him for his first day. He walked down the hall with such confidence. He didn't need us there, but we tagged along anyway. He picked out this dinosaur shirt for the first day. He's slightly obsessed with dinosaurs right now.

His teacher is the mom of one of the little girls who was in his Pre-K class. She seems super sweet. We got to know each other a little last year because she was able to go to all of the school events that I would miss because of work and she always texted me pictures. I LOVE that!
Here he is in his classroom... still missing those bottom teeth. Although they are filling in pretty quickly.

I took off the whole day so I could pick him up from school. My fear was baby girl would decide that was the best day to come. You know, steal big brother's thunder. Fortunately, that did not happen.
I captured this weird picture of him at pick-up. I really thought I got one of him looking at the camera, oh well.
And then we went for ice cream to celebrate - two scoops (chocolate and strawberry) with M&Ms, whipped cream and a cherry.
He says the first day (or two) was boring. I think it's because they mostly are getting into a routine. He says they color more in Kindergarten than they did in Pre-K and he's not a big fan of coloring. I am so excited for him this year. I can't wait to see how much he grows and develops by the time May rolls around.
He's such an awesome, sweet, kind, loving kid. He really has a tender heart and I adore him. His life is about to change so much with the addition of baby sister. He is excited, but I don't know that he really understands what's coming. He told me the other day that when she cries he'll sometimes go pick her up or rub her back. We have many conversations about how he needs to let us do the picking up, at least until her neck is stronger, and how sometimes it's OK for babies to cry. He's already a great big brother.
