Here's what happened. Monday night three weeks ago Nate was at Mayfair playing basketball as he does every Monday night. Well, he came home and said that he and Matt M. had both jumped for a ball or a block or something, anyway, he came down on Matt's foot and his rolled off. It was starting to swell, but I thought since he was fine to walk home on it then it was just a sprain and he would be fine.
A week later, Memorial Day, the swelling had not gone down.
So, I called my mom and asked her if that meant I needed to take him to the doctor. She said probably. We went car shopping and then back home.. he took off his shoe and it actually looked worse. His toes were turning purple and the top of his foot green. YUCK!
sorry for the gross pictures.
Then we finally went to the walk-in clinic. We got in and the doctor barely looked at his ankle and said he had a level two ligament tear. They also x-rayed it and said nothing was broken. Great! Now I'm the insensitive wife who made my husband tough it out when he should have gone to the doctor. They gave him this brace thing that he has to wear to restrict the movement and said no basketball or any other sport for 6 weeks. The good news is he won't need surgery.. only a level 3 tear means surgery.
His mom said he should go to the doctor right after it happened, but I said "No.. he'll be fine." After we did take him she told him she thinks he should hang his basketball shoes up for good.
The bruising is finally going away, he does still have a knot on his ankle. He also doesn't wear the brace they gave him, instead he borrowed a boot from his dad, because the brace really didn't fit in his shoe.

Men cant hang up their shoes for good unless they have a massive injury (leg amputation, broken neck, etc.) or are over 35 :)
AND JUST FOR THE RECORD, I JUST SAW THIS AND MATT SAID THAT NOT ME :)
