We Joined The Club

Sam's Club that is...
FYI, this was pre-posted last Saturday..
We live close to Sam's and decided to get a membership...
I'm already developing a love hate relationship with this place.

I love that I can go and get 36 rolls of toilet paper or giant bottles of Shampoo...

I hate that I always spend a LOT of money!

Seriously though, I'm trying to figure out if I really will save any money or if I'm actually spending more.. It's hard to decide and then I look at this...

Here is one of my buys -- a 48 oz jar of minced garlic for $4.72. The small jar in the picture is a 4.5 oz jar that I got at the normal grocery store. It cost close to $3. So, I got almost 10 times the amount for not even $2 more. That's a deal.

But then there's this.. I didn't really need raspberries, but I guess they're healthy and they were cheap.

Here's the problem -- who needs a ginormous jar of pickled okra? Apparently I do. I mean it was only $3.63. A small jar costs so much at the store that I never buy it, but this huge jar I had to have. Can you say impulse buy.. so much for the savings on the garlic. And then there's this... buying in bulk actually forces me to separate things and freeze them or group them for serving/cooking. Although now I need to go back because I ran out of ziploc bags and I can get 500 for $8 or something like that. And so goes the cycle.
I also bought a big thing of hamburger meat the other day and a big thing of ground turkey today for less than I would pay at the store. I guess there's savings, it's just hard to see when you get to the register and everything is priced bulk.
Oh, and now I need an extra freezer for all the extra food I have.
I sure am blessed if this is my biggest problem.

1) Please let me eat some of that pickled okra with you. I LOVE THAT STUFF!! 2) just think now you won't have to buy cheese for about a year. and 3) I will go with you if you ever want a shopping buddy! Even if it's just for a pretzel at the snack bar.

I am the same way... once I get to the registered it always shocks me when the price comes up but I love that I only have to go like once a month or two.
