A Very Merry Christmas

I feel a little immature rating my Christmas by gifts, but I have to say that this year was one of the best gift getting Christmases I have had!
First, though let me talk about the kid who actually was in to the holiday this year. Brixton was so excited!!
We left Santa a gingerbread house (more on that in a later post) and hot chocolate and when B woke up he found this...
"A dinosaur pillow and a nighttime truck." Just what he asked for. Santa even left him a few stocking goodies including a nerf gun, gummy bears and a snow globe, and there was a note saying thanks for the snacks.
I was not a big fan of the dinosaur pillow when he found it a while back, but at least he's having fun with it right...
He did get a couple of big toys. I'm not sure where to put them, but both are like the little racetrack above.
His Aunt G and Uncle Chris got him this guitar, piano and drum. He loves anything musical. He also got a harmonica which was tons of fun at my mom and dad's house.
The hard thing about a kid and Christmas is figuring out what to do with everything. Do we put some away until the spring (he just had his birthday so he has no lack of toys right now)? Do we just let him have all of it? Is there a way to get it all organized?
Now to me. Nate did awesome! Although he went WAY over budget. I guess he's been working lots of overtime so he'll make up the extra. He got me two pair of earrings. One is little crystals and the other is black pearls surrounded by little crystals. They are the perfect size! I used to always wear pearl earrings, but they have all broken so I have been without anything that I like for a while now.

He also got me this. A Vitamix blender. It's such a weird feeling to be so excited about a blender. My sister-in-law got knives and we were discussing how funny it is that we get excited about these type of things now.

If you don't know about this blender then letmetellya, IT.IS.AMAZING!! With all my health stuff this is a great tool for me. I can make smoothies with lots of veggies that I'll never taste, to help me get extra nutrients. I can make ice cream and even hot soup in this thing! I'm super excited. I was saving my money for this and was shocked to get it! We were at Nate's mom and dad's house and I took B to the potty. When I came back this was setting in my spot. I'm sure my expression was priceless. I was shocked!

And remember that entry way wall that we have tried over and over again to figure out what to do with... well, these will help...

They are cut out of metal by a girl we know in Stillwater who started a little business called The Word Within. You should check it out.

Now that I have these we are going to hang them in the entry way and add lots of pictures around them to make a great gallery wall. We do need to figure out a paint color for the wall, but at least paint is super affordable compared to wallpaper.
And lastly, there's this. My mom got me this rotary cutter and mat. I have been wanting one of these for a while, but never wanted to buy one because they are pretty expensive. Now I can get to work on a couple of projects I've been wanting to start. Thanks mom!

The best part was that I did not have to go in to work. All day Monday I kept praying, asking God for less snow than was forecast (I never prayed for no snow, just that there would be enough for the kids to play in but not so much that it shut the city down). I really wanted to be home with B on Christmas morning and thanks to that answered prayer I not only got to be home with him all morning but all day!
I hope you all had a very merry Christmas!
