Deck The Halls

I love decorating for Christmas -- and this year (thanks to Pinterest) our entry way looks awesome!!
See these trees...
They aren't trees at all! Just my summer tomato cages upside down and wrapped in garland. Isn't that awesome! And the best part, Nate likes them! We tend to disagree on a lot of styles but he likes these so I'm happy.
They have blue lights around them so they can be lit up at night. I bought a few sets of ornaments and the bows on the pots at Dollar Tree. I made the wreath last year. I can't decide if I need another one on the other door. What do you think?
We've had a little problem with our tree this year. See the blank spot...
Yup, the lights aren't working. We bought some fancy gadget to see if we could fix it but no luck. And now the next two sections down keep blinking off and on. Usually they'll come back on if we turn it off for a few minutes.
Brixton did enjoy decorating the tree. I left all the ornaments where he put them, which is filling the about three branches along the bottom of the tree. He's only broken one ornament this year and it was just some bell that I don't even know where it came from.

We did let him paint an ornament again this year. He painted a train last year and a race car this year. I may try to let him do that every year because I love having them on my tree.

Merry Christmas!

Chellie,

That sounds like a neat tradition - painting an ornament every year! Do it! Even when's he's a big kid he'll want to do it and you could make it a family activity! Something unique to your crew.

Love your "trees." Couldn't tell they were tomato cages. A long time ago I made pine cone trees like that, using wire and hot glue on tomato cages, then put lights on them. They were beautiful but SSSOOOO heavy. I used them a few years but the pinecones kept falling off. Anyway, still fun.
