A Fancy Date & Cleaning Up

My birthday was a couple weeks ago and Nate took me to Vast. We don't go on dates very often, but at least once a year we like to have a "fancy" date. And no, cleaning up doesn't refer to us getting dressed up.. it's at the bottom. Oh, and Nate shaved in the car on the way there.
Our table wasn't right next to the window, but we still had a great view looking from the Devon Tower to the east. I think we could see our house as a tiny dot in the distance.
I think Nate had steak. I had lamb. It was all really good. Our waiter even gave us FREE dessert! And boy was it yummy! The one on the left is what he gave me -- mostly chocolate, a little coffee and Nate's was a little like a bananas foster type thing. Again, yum!

I tried to get a picture of the view but I guess it's mostly our reflection...

And we asked some random man to take our picture in the rotunda area. Don't you love my blue pants!?! Nate gave me those for my birthday. I need to get them hemmed, but they are so fun.
Now to our Cleaning Up!
I've had a pile of donate clothes sitting in our room for about a year. I just never get them out the door. Then Nate and I went through our stuff and pulled out even more. A few bags and a couple boxes full.
I had decided I didn't want to take them to Goodwill, because while I know they do good work I shop there sometimes and feel like they have lots of good stuff already. So, I wanted to find somewhere else that could use them. I had planned to maybe give them to Our Sister's Closet, which is run by the YWCA and helps victims of domestic violence. However, a church in Midwest City has a clothing closet and one of the ladies who helps with it lives around the corner and said she would pick our stuff up... therefore, she wins the clothing jackpot. They were super excited about Nate's old pants because they always need stuff for tall men.

But then there are these two items... this blue dress has been in my closet for years! I haven't worn it in at least SIX years!! So WHY MUST I keep it? Well, this is the dress I wore away from my wedding. When Nate and I left our wedding we actually just drove around the block, stopped at Subway for lunch and then went back to the hotel where my mom was waiting to help me out of my big ol' dress so we could change clothes before heading on to Dallas. I almost put it in the box, but Nate told me it's OK to keep it.
The suit has nothing to do with our wedding, but it's practically brand new! We got this for Nate several years ago and now he has outgrown it. It was tailored to fit his former 34x34 pant size. He thinks the suit is technically a 42 or 44 (I don't know anything about men's suit sizes). Anyway, it's from Dillards and was not cheap so we are hoping to sell it. If you know anyone who might fit those sizes and would be willing to pay $75 then send them our way. It's actually a blue pin stripe suit.

I still have my JR HIGH prom dress in my closet...that came all the way from PA, to my apt, to our house on Red Elm and now to our current place. Will I ever wear it again? Doubtful. And even more doubtful that Haylie will. Regardless, it's a beautiful dress and I love it. I think it's okay to keep things like that! Did you ask Jerad Lovett about the suit? Or Dustin Andrews? I'm just trying to think of tall guys - ha!
