What do these two things have in common??
Both have High Fructose Corn Syrup which is bad news for my body! (At least it's in the chocolate milk you buy already mixed)
So frustrating! Why do they need HFCS?
Part of my Get My Body Healthy quest involves cutting out HFCS. It's in soda. It's even in some types of honey, if you aren't careful. Not to mention dozens of other things. The problem is my body can't handle it. There are a few things I know cause me pain, broccoli, greasy foods and HFCS are the big ones.
Anyway, I was really frustrated, almost to tears, the day Nate bought me some chocolate milk and I figured out it had HFCS in it. I mean, why did I have to read the little label? Something inside said I should and sure enough it was there. So what did I do? Of course I gave it to my child! While it isn't good for him either I didn't want to waste it and knew he would be ok after one bottle of the sweet chocolately stuff.
If you haven't ever looked into what HFCS can do to your body it's really not a bad idea. Some of what I read says your body can really never process it and that it just sort of hangs out in your liver. Yuck!
I was going to post an article, but I'll just let you do your own research.
One good thing I have learned lately... when I'm craving soda I CAN have one of these...
IZZE drinks are just fruit juice and sparkling water. No added sugar or HFCS!! Sounds like a win to me!

I think Trumoo brand of choc. milk doesn't have it...my son loves it so I'm always looking for the one without HFCS. I wouldn't have bought it long ago but since he's my baby, you know, he gets a few special things!
