Finally Out Of The Hospital

For those of you who haven't heard... I have spent most of this week in the hospital after my baby decided Sunday he wanted to go ahead and see the world.
Here's everything:
Sunday afternoon I started having contractions (I've actually had them for a couple weeks, but these were pretty frequent), I had three on the way to church. I called my doctor and the on call told me to go to the hospital. We felt a little silly because they really didn't hurt, but we went anyway. They said we did the right thing because I was dialated to a 3 and 60-70% affaced.
They watched me for a while.. the contractions stopped pretty much, they gave me a shot of Brethyne and a steroid to help the baby's lungs develop (just in case), then I went home. Overnight I woke up a couple of times having stronger contractions. So, i called my doctor and he said go get monitored agan.
We got back to the hospital, they checked me again and said I was at a 4 and they were definitely admitting me. It was really crazy that I was at a 4... and a big part of the concern... evidentally it doesn't take much for me to progress which will be great when it's time for him to come.. but now so great now.
Then they took me to labor and delivery and started me on Mag which the nurse said, "will make you barf your brains out." That's what I want to hear! Well fortunately it didn't. They watched me all day Monday and then all day yesterday. Originally they said I would be on the Mag for 12 hours, we started around noon, but my doctor came in about 7:30 and said everything seemed ok to stop it... that I could sit up and that I could eat! They monitored me until 10 and then just let me sleep.
This morning my doctor came in and said he wanted me up moving around, sort of testing my body a little, since I wasn't having contractions he let me go home! Also, he's approved me to go back to work almost full duty tomorrow (just no breaking news chasing crazy story stuff)!
This is great because now I don't have to start taking my leave now, meaning I can actually have it when the baby gets here.
They are hoping the baby will stay in for at least three more weeks, however, the doctor seems confident that even if he's born now he'll be ok. The steroids should have developed his lungs enough by now for him to survive if he is born. They said the good news is that our baby is bigger than most are at this point which gives him a better survival chance.
We just got the crib up this past weekend so i guess this little guy thought we were ready for him to come... hopefully he'll give us a couple more weeks.
However, we will be installing our car seat and packing for the hospital asap!
