Designer Challenge

We are looking at changing some of the lighting in our house & I have no idea what to do about two room!
Brixton's room and our "guest" room both have ceilings that follow the roof line. The problem is the lights are on the high part of the ceiling but that means they are far from centered in the room. We don't want visible cords running on the ceiling but I simply cannot figure out what will look good.

Here is Brixton's room
Love the popcorn ceiling. NOT.
And here is a view of the angle.
I would love some sort of nice fixture, not track lighting but am at a loss.

This is the other room -- the light is on top of the beam where the bright spot is.
This is looking toward the slant.
This is from the side.
Note: eventually the guest room won't be blue, we just have it at the very bottom of the things to do list.

OK. Ready. GO!
Ideas. PLEASE!

Update: We are planning to hire an electrician.

Is getting an electrician to reposition the location of the light source out of the question? Or you could use lamps. For easier use they can be connected to the switch but that prob also requires an electrician.

Then i would have him install can lights in appropriate places or a ceiling fan from a pole, but thats just cause i like fans in bedrooms :)

Tricky tricky! I wonder if you could do some sort of a swag light fixture?
