In the middle of all the craziness we got NEW WINDOWS!!!
I tried to find some before pictures but so far this is the only one I can find. This window is in our master bedroom. They were single pane and original to our house (1960 something)
And here are the new bedroom windows. They are still aluminum because we feel that just fits our house better than vinyl. Aluminum now is way better than it was in 1960 anyway.
Here's a view from the patio the light wood is the trim that we will have to paint.
The other side of the front patio. These big windows are the most exciting. They are double pane with that argon gas stuff inside and they are tempered which means they will break into a million pieces instead of into large pieces that could kill my child if he were to run into one of them and break it.
I found another old picture (on the right). It shows the front windows and that they just didn't look fabulous. The picture on the left is the new windows. They look so sharp! We did lots of searching around and had a million estimates. We don't take decisions lightly. After pouring over the numbers (windows are expensive), highjacking my friends Angie's List account and listening to endless hours of sales pitches we went with Thermal Windows. They were easy to work with, decently affordable.
