The Newest Member Of The Family

Meet Zoey, the chiweenie.

She's a rescue dog from The Bella Foundation. She's a year old and is a Chihuahua, Daschund mix.

It was love from the moment he saw her!

She was almost snatched away! We were looking at her in the cage and another family came and took her to play with. When they brought her back we had to hold her. And Brixton never let go (well, figuratively, he let go once and she almost ran out of Petsmart! Nate and some random lady had to catch her.)

Brixton was holding her and he said, "Puppy, I love you!" Melt my heart, that kid.

She is great with him too. He can hold her by the neck and she won't growl or bark or even cry. She just looks at him and licks his nose. He thinks that is hilarious!
You were wondering, I'm sure, about Brownie -- you know the dog I was trying to give away a couple months ago. Well, she still lives with us.

We had decided maybe we would get her a friend -- Zoey is a little smaller than Brownie would probably like, but so far they get along. They chase each other down the hall. They still sniff each other a lot, but Brownie hasn't been mean. She did snap at Zoey once, but Brownie was eating and Zoey wanted to steal her food. She has also hit her a couple times, sort of a "Hey, little dog, what are you doing."

I think they'll be good friends.

Here's another random look at Zoey. She's hard to get a picture of... but this shows how long and skinny she is. She's a little boney, but I'm pretty sure she's from a puppy mill and so we are working to fatten her up. She has all shots and is spayed and microchipped. If you are thinking about getting a dog consider a rescue pet. The Bella Foundation and so many others do great things for these poor little pets.
