Just a little of our recent happenings.
We all watched the Polar Express (yes, before Thanksgiving -- my dad would not approve -- haha)
Brixton wanted to make some cookies and I just happened to have all the ingredients to make no-bake cookies. He LOVED helping!! He said, "Momma, I'm a real good cooker."
And he told Nate, "I'm bein' like a real baker."
This was on the way to Thanksgiving. Nate tried to fix his hair, but he got really angry and wanted to do it himself. He really just wanted to comb the front so it would stick up like this. He cracks me up.
And then my lovely necklace. Brixton made this at school and insisted that I wear it to work on Wednesday. I made it a point to tell my co-workers that I was going to wear this and they were all supportive. You see there's a different level of anxiety in wearing a necklace my child made when I know that people could easily send me an e-mail telling me how silly it looks.
So, I proudly wore it ... on air... while talking about the big arrest in a homicide case from over a year ago. It made him happy. A gal at work told me that when her son was little she didn't wear the necklace he made and he still talks about it to this day. That was the story which sealed the deal on me wearing the necklace.
