Monday, when I left house this is what I walked away from (except the counters were all cleared off).
Monday night, when I got home, this is what was left. Yikes! Does that scare anyone else? Except I totally love the color of the natural wood ceiling.
Here's a panoramic view. There are a ton of wires just hanging between the walls. We have to get an electrician in for that phase.
It's VERY frightening. However, I am sooo VERY excited. The framer is finishing up either today or tomorrow morning. An electrician is coming to go over things with us Friday and once he does work we will get the drywall guys in and then will come the cabinets.
In the meantime, we are trying to sell our old kitchen cabinets and the oven, stove and vent hood. We are very willing to negotiate on a price. The cabinets are apparently custom built. They would look nice in any home, but we feel like it could definitely be a good fit for a rent house. So, if you know anyone who needs cabinets send them our way.

wow! Demo always happens so much faster than the rest! That ceiling is pretty beautiful. Can't wait to see it all come together!
I can't wait to see your new kitchen ceiling and lights. My mother has those same kind of plastic panels in her kitchen ceiling from '74. They're okay but I'm sure whoever buys her house in the future will remodel.
