A couple weeks ago I found another "spot" that I thought could have only come from Brownie. I was so mad. Then within 24 hours I learned it was actually a leak in our plumbing that runs above the basement. So, a call to our home warranty company (thank goodness we have one) and a frustrating plumber experience the leaky pipe was fixed.
However, the repair made the basement floor so dirty! They had to tear our part of the ceiling. I haven't been able to get a good picture of the finished product because of the mess. I had asked Nate to cover the floor while they were there. He did, but somehow the floor still got quite a bit of the dirt and gunk.
Also, I decided to paint the area where the washer and dryer go before moving them back in. The dryer works in the garage, but the washer doesn't. I need more time to paint, but did paint where the washer goes. We moved it in, only to find ANOTHER LEAK!! ugg! One huge puddle later, a soggy wall and a couple of huge red marks on the wall from the repair and the leak is stopped. This time Nate was able to fix it with a little advice from his dad (who is able to fix anything). So, now we are getting back to progress. Hopefully I can finish painting and cleaning the basement this week and then I will post a final floor picture.
We have also been working a lot on our garden which has taken a lot of time. I actually planted a tree all by myself last week -- it was NOT easy. Trees are really heavy! And for the sake of a picture -- here's the garden progress. It doesn't look like much but we have moved in a LOT of dirt and planted the two Japanese Maple trees and a couple things you can't see in this picture. The little tree on the right is the one I planted by myself. Just to the right of that tree is where the bees were living. Getting rid of them really helped us make progress on this project.
I also painted our hallway this weekend. It looks great. I'll take pictures of that soon, too. If you can't tell I get easily distracted which, if I'm honest with myself, is probably the main reason you have not seen a full basement post.

I love seeing your before and after pictures! Keep up the good work1
Oh wow. I would have gotten majorly frustrated with the basement project! You will love the Japanese Maples. We have a mature on in the back and a baby in the front. I can't believe how $$$ they are, though!
