Brixton has been telling us for a while that his bed was "not big." In fact, he was refusing to sleep in it many time, opting instead to sleep on the floor. We have been searching for a twin size bed. Did you know beds are REALLY expensive!!??!! We found one at IKEA but decided to look around here a little more before driving to Texas. We ended up finding a semi-affordable one at a place called KidZone Furniture. It's across from Bob Mills Furniture.
Nate picked it up Saturday while I took Brixton to get sheets for his new bed. He fell asleep on the way home and so I let him sleep in another room while we put his bed together.
He was super excited to wake up to this. (I didn't get a picture, I was too busy trying not to cry)
I didn't buy him a comforter so that's just his toddler bed comforter on the bed. We are looking for something a little less cartoon themed. Since he doesn't really use blankets at night anyway we are going to keep looking.
Anyway, we disassembled the crib enough to move it into our guest room. No we did not take it completely apart. We do hope to use it again someday so we just moved it into the bedroom next to Brixton's for now.
He was really excited about the bed. That night Nate put him to bed and a few minutes later called for him to come back. Brixton said, "This bed too big. I not a big boy." Nate reassured him he is a big boy and said he would sit outside in the hall for a few minutes. He never called for him to come back in and seems to have slept well. In fact, Sunday afternoon we could not get him out of bed. He kept saying, "No, it's time to rest. I stay in my bed."
There were several times were I almost cried. Who knew it was so emotional to let him sleep in a twin size bed. I'm sure that crib won't stay empty for too long.
On that note, I am NOT pregnant. Yesterday I posted on Facebook that I was really happy. For some reason people jumped to the conclusion that I was pregnant. The truth is there was a girl at work being interviewed for my morning position. I don't know if they are going to offer her the job or not, but I sure hope they do. As soon as they fill my spot I am supposed to move to a daytime 9-6ish schedule.

I love the way you all take cues from him at just the right time and are letting him grow up! Good job, parents!
btw, loved the report on the "oldest Thunder fan!"
It's so hard letting them grow up. Love that sweet bed!
I'm glad things are going well for his transition. I love having H in a big bed...but that does mean they are growing up. *Tear*
